PEZ Fling

OMG, my blog post are all 1 day late. Haha! Yeah, I was working at SAF Sembawang yesterday. There were so many army boys and the in - charge , Dave, told us that it was the 1st time that they were bringing beer into the camp for a celebration. He was quite a flirty person. As the blunt me, I didn't entertain him so Gen entertained him instead. There were many malays and most of them were drinking alot!

Overall, it was good. We had to wear christmas hats given by Dave. A few asked for my name and one gave me a Ferrero Rocher rose. How sweet of them. Hehe.. Dave gave us some food from the buffet as he was afraid we would go hungry. He also gave us the christmas hats as 'presents' and gave us 1 carton of Ferrero Rocher (3 x 16 6)!!! Gen and I split 3 each. It was my first time working in a army camp and I think it was really fun! I would like to look forward to more of such events.

I met Alex after work! He was an hour late but he already informed me beforehand. So while waiting for him, Zhen Xiang kept me company through the phone. I was also touching up my make up. In public! Gosh! I'm getting thick skinned. Alex reached about 10.30 pm in his mum's BMW 6 series. We then headed to Newton Circles for supper. Alex went to the toilet as he had a tummy ache. I managed to find a seat and waited for him to be done. Then we had white carrot cake (no chilli, no cong), chicken satay, rojak (cucumber and you tiao) and sugar cane with lemon! His treat. Yay!

After dinner, we spent almost half an hour in the car thinking where to go next. Then I suggested Marina Barrage and off to Marina Barrage we go. My my, it was so windy over there! There were people flying kite and it was like the 2nd time I've seen someone fly the kite till so high. Alex said next time he back we go fly kite. Haha.. We lied on the stone slab and enjoyed the wind. Of course we were also talking. Both of us were freezing as the wind was really strong. We talking till about 3.15 am then we decided to head home. Due to the cold wind and slab, my neck and left leg was hurting, like rheumatism sia.. Alex's back was a little aching too. So.. Alex offered to piggyback me down. So paiseh lah! After much persuasion, I gave in and he piggybacked me all the way to the ladies. Hehe.. It's been a while since someone piggyback me. =D

He went for a smoke while I was in the ladies. Then, he drove me home. I gave him the PEZ sweets, Kinder Bueno, and one box of Ferrero Rocher. I'm gonna make him hit the 100 kg mark. LOL! I'm giving 5 packets to Zhen Xiang. So bias right.. =/ Alex demanded a good night kiss as I didn't give him the previous time. So there I go. Just a peck on the cheek for my PEZ fling. Lalala~

Alright, I'm going to take a nap now. I will be bringing 1 box of Ferrero to Jie Jie Angeline's place tonight to give my nephews and niece. I'm planning to wear my peacock maxi dress! Haha.. Might be meeting Kayvern for prawning or Alex tonight. Alex will be flying to Beijing for internship tomorrow! Let us all countdown to 1st January 2010! Bye bye 2009!!!

Painting The Town Red

It was a usual school day yesterday. There wasn't any Stats class anymore so I went ahead with my Macro econs class. After class, Zhen Xiang ent to tabao laksa at his place and came over to meet me in school. Laksa is nice but I wasn't really in the mood to have something spicy, partly because my tummy kept churning. Haha.. We headed to Orchard about 8 pm. That was when we started snapping pictures non-stop. Even on the MRT! Made funny and stupid faces. Some people were watching and smiling. Haha.. I'm waiting for the pictures to be uploaded in my com so I can upload more here. Alex was tired so we didn't meet up late in the night. Like late. He's like forever packed with activities. Very hard to catch him. He'll be leaving on 1st January 2010. Time flies pretty fast man.. Finally, 2009 is ending soon. It wasn't a very good year for me.

I got to get ready for work soon. Today will be station at SAF Sembawang Camp from 5 pm till 9 pm. I should be meeting Alex after that for supper. But then again, he might be flying an aeroplane. Haha!

Sarawak Trip

Hey guys! I haven't been blogging for a while as I was away for a short trip to Kuching in Sarawak, a.k.a. Cat City, with my family excluding my brother. So, this is going to be a long long entry. Haha..

25th December: We left on christmas day, 25th December! We were quite on time on that day but dad was rushing us as usual. It was the first time I sat on a budget airplane. Before I left, Zhen Xiang and Kayvern accompanied me on the phone. I bet they're gonna miss me while I'm away. Lol!

I reached Sarawak at about 4++ pm and was greeted by my cousins (auntie Winne and Lisa, Uncle William and Francis), nieces (Janice and Nelly) and nephew (Jonathan) from Sarawak. arrive at the hotel, Grand Margherita, at about 5 pm. The hotel was quite well decorated. There was a small christmas decoration at the hotel lobby. It was made of real food and biscuits! It reminded me of Hansel and Gretel and The Gingerbread Man! Hehe..

We checked in and went to a restaurant for dinner with all my cousins! We occupied 4 tables! Can you imagine that my extended family is so big?? We had a local veggie called Midin. It's damn delicious lah! But I found out that they are grown along swamps and long kang (drain). Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. There was also durian puff but this is not the same as Singapore's. It's very delicious too! I had 2 bowl of rice. After dinner, we headed back to the hotel while mum and dad went to visit Auntie Jacky as she is sick with cancer. I watched Stardust (watched it on the 19th with Xiang Hao) again with my nephew, Yuan Shun.

26th December: We got up very early for breakfast! Breakfast was yummy! Most of them had cereals and rice/ noodles. I'm quite westernized so I had eggs, milk, sausages, beef, tomatoes, bread, etc. HAHA! I had a very filling breakfast.

Then, we proceeded to visit the Long House with Auntie Winnie, Nelly and Janice. Chickens are on the loose! They are allowed to roam freely and I bet the meat is very juicy! However, the hygiene there was terrible. Houseflies are all over. I can see blood (I believes it's chicken's blood) on the wooden floor. There are intestines, liver, etc although I'm not sure they belong to what animals. I believe it's pork but malays don't take pork. So I'm not sure.

I realized all the bus rides are super long! I keep napping during the rides. Okay. Back to the topic, we went to 3 Long Houses and we have a friend staying there. She entertained us and gave us snack to munch on. I love this particular food. It's actually coconut rice in a pitcher plant. Now wait, don't be disgusted. It's really very nice. It reminds me of 'ba zhang' (rice dumpling) as it is abit sticky. We also had rice wine but it felt more like sprite with alcohol to me. We then went to a 'Sunday market' when it was actually a Saturday. I also don't know why they called it Sunday market. I bought a straw bag, handmade bracelet and necklace from there.

27th December: I couldn't get up early today so I had to skip breakfast. I was still feeling very tired and kept falling asleep. Hehe.. We went to a place where the Ibans and tribe people lived. It was a sight to behold. Very different from the city life. There were lots of mosquitoes. There was this 'Head House' where it oversees the whole village. There were some human skeleton heads hanging in there. The tour guide said that those were heads of the enemies. When they were killed and skinned, they were hung above a fire. It is believed that the fire keeps the souls of the enemies warm, turning the evil spirits into good spirit so that they can protect the villagers from harm.

I went to blow the blowpipe. Damn, I nearly hit the target (pepsi can). =/ We watched the cultural dance by the people in a small theatre. It was pretty alright. Joshua bought this unique instrument which is like a guitar.

We went to a beach to sightsee. The weather was quite cloudy so it was the best weather to go to a beach. After spending 15 mins there, we went ahead to our next destination. LUNCH!!! Auntie Winnie, auntie Lisa, Nelly, Adrian and Adeline were with us on this day. We, children, order alot of good food which includes midin, lobster, red talipia, deer meat and many more! I had 2 bowls of rice again! We had some free time and went to walk around.

We had dinner at a stall nearby the hotel. It was tasty at all. Then we met Nelly and the kids went to catch Avatar at a shopping mall called Riverside Majesty. I was watching it for the 2nd time! I just love love love this show! We headed home after the movies and headed straight for bed while Yuan Shun came to my room to watch Batman: The Dark Knight.

28th December: I managed to have a filling breakfast! Hehehe.. We went to visit museums and we all find it boring. All of us just want to shop. LOL! Jonathan drove us around and I went to buy some handmade braclet for 3 of my friends, Zhen Xiang, Alex and Kayvern. I should have bought more so that I can give to Xiang Hao and Marcus and a few more. But at that time, I only thought of these 3 guys. Wakaka..

Sis and I sat in Janice's car with Nelly. By the way, Janice, Nelly and Adrian are siblings. Janice drove us to a coffee shop where it sell excellent 'gou lou mee' (pork mee). Sis and I had 1 and a half bowl each. I had guava juice while she had some juice. I forgot the fruit name. Then, we went to check out and went back to the airport. We all exchanged emails and I hope we will all keep in touch. We left at 4.30 pm and Singapore, here I come! At last, home sweet home although I don't mind staying longer in Sarawak.

After I got home, I met Zhen Xiang for dinner. He wanted to see me. So we met and had dinner, ice cream and watch 'Hi My Sweetheart' at my place. I will blog my happenings on 29th December tomorrow. I'm very tired now and I confirm will K.O. once I lie on my bed. Selamat malam people!

Starts Well, End Bad

Hi peeps! I managed to meet Alex Tan, my PEZ fling, on Sunday late night! We went to back to his place and watched Skeleton Key. I ton over and we talked the whole night. Till 6 am! And of course, I gave him all my Pez sweets. I had to top them up today. Haha.. He sent me home in his dad's Aston Martin. It was a very rare ride for me but it was an experience. He was tired and so was I as we didn't have enough sleep that night.

Monday was alright for me. I had work at night and Andrew, the bartender I got to know at Duxom Blue, stood me up. It was the 2nd time someone stood me up in a week. *PISSED* I didn't want to call Kayvern because it feels like I'm treating him as a driver. So, I decided to meet Brett after work for pool with his JC friends. We left quit late and dad called and complained. Then Brett accompany me for supper and walked me home. We had a long chat.. Everything was fine.

I was tired today and skipped the 1st half of the class. Then, I met Alex for lunch and he drove his mum's BMW 6 series. It was a very smooth journey! We went somehere near my school for lunch (Xin Wang HK Cafe) and he sent me to school. He tried to drive like Alex Chong and I was so scared! He's bad lah.. Purposely make me scared and he still find it amusing! -.- Alex said that I am too trusting and told me to read a book titled 'Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man'. It's a book on love, relationships, how man behave and operate and many more. It's pretty interesting and I'm addicted to it! I think I can only return it to him when he's back from his next holiday..

Well well.. After macroecons class today, I went to meet Ming Teck to sign up for monthly donation for Cancer patients. Then I met Zhen Xiang for dinner. We actually went to get my new handphone, Sony Ericsson W995, $248 after $100 voucher. We waited quite long but I was really very happy and excited about getting a new phone! Hehe.. We had Subway for dinner! Then, we went to search for my screen protector and price for my old faulty phone. After that, I went to shop at NTUC and bought some stuff plus my favourite Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby! There was a promotion and I got a B&J Cake Batter for free. Yay! Zhen Xiang helped me carry my stuff to dad's car and he went home after that.

Then, the terrible part came. My parents and I had a fucking long talk. They want me to quit my job and study harder. I shall skipped the details. My day ended bad today. I'm turning in now. It's pretty late already. Freaking shit. ARGH!

I had corporate finance lesson in the morning and boy, it was tiring as I had very little sleep last night. Mum fetched me home and dropped Zhen Xiang at Bishan MRT station. We had a game and the host left. There have been many noobs and leavers lately. Lol.. Then I had lunch and an afternoon nap as usual. I was so tired that I didn't want to get up but I had to! Then, mum helped me out with the washing of my rabbit cages. I appreciated it. Thanks mum!

I met Xiang Hao for dinner and we just watched Avatar in 3D at West Mall in Bukit Batok! It's an excellent movie and I would definitely recommend this show to everyone. I can say it was one of the best movies I've ever watched. I had a pleasant evening and am now ready for bed. I ton over at Xiang Hao's place. He's really decent but he's always mean to me! Ben didn't fly back to England today as he had gastric flu. Poor Ben. Take care alright? You will have a speedy recovery!

Networking

I know I'm late for this post.. Just wanted to update about Wednesday. I was working 1st time at a chinese KTV pub at Duxon Blue and later proceed to Bonkers. Overall, I still prefer restaurants as 'uncles' in such pubs can be quite touchy. However, working in a pub has it's advantages. I managed to network a little and got to know 3 guys that night. One was a customer from England and his name is Ben. Nice and humourous guy. He was with a friend from Germany and his name is Julian. I also got to know the bartender at Duxon Blue. Very baby face guy. He reminds me of Alfred. Haha.. That night, Samantha was my partner and she can really push the sales well. I was quite lost as chinese KTV pub is not my cup of tea and some customers tend to be touchy. Plus, I don't know how to play dice. Samantha thought me how.. Well, I learn something new.

I was at Seafood International on Thursday. Alex stood me up with acceptable excuse though, I had a very strong feeling that he won't turn up that evening. I just don't know why women's intuition can be very strong at times. I really hope to see him before he fly off again. Mr Kheng called me and asked if I would like to go back to Pertapis Women's Home to teach. Of course I agreed. But I do hope Pertapis will deliver my pay cheque promptly. They're always very late in paying my salary. =( I told mum and dad about my job. They weren't too happy. And oh, exam dates are out! So scary. I got to plan my time well already. Next year will be a bustling year for me.

As for today, it has been a normal average day for me. Ben is flying back to England tomorrow and will probably be back during early Janurary. Have a safe journey home, Ben. Don't worry about the snow. It'll be alright. =)

Oh my goodness. It's almost 3 a.m. and I have got classes in the early morning. I'm off to bed now. Good night world. Hello lalaland.

Today has been rather a slow and rainy day for me. I have got work tonight at Tanjong Pagar from 8 pm to 12 am. I'm really excited as tonight will be a new location for me. Hehe.. One more hour to go can I can get ready to prepare for work. I've been pretty early for work these days. Probably because I want to kick that bad habit of mine. But I'm still late for school. I have to make significant improvement man..

I told mum I'll be late back home again and she started probing and started her long and irritating speech. She still doesn't trust me of what I am doing and who I am mixing with. When I'm off to work, I would say I'm out with friends. But actually, I am just working. And of course, I know how to protect myself. I definitely won't let anyone take advantage of me.

During lunch today (mum took off and cooked macoroni), mum told me about Jun (my sister, Melanie, family calls her Jun). Mum said sis wants to go to Australia to study for degree. Of course we support her! But mum used the wrong approach. Again. And sis was pissed off. Mum always start with: "Why want to resign? Then school fee how? Why this, why that?? Money this, money that." We know everything needs money but sometimes, they should ask properly, sit down and discuss our plans. Not everytime start doubting us and putting us down.

Then sis said: "You all don't understand me. Only Gloria understands me." All these are what mum told to me and Jo (my brother, Joel). When we heard, we were like.. "Eh? If you don't tell us your problems, how can we help..?" One thing about my sis, she confides in friends but not in her family. She is the exact opposite of Jo and I. Not that Jo and I will tell everything to our parents but at least we got each other. Jun still doesn't understand that as we get older, although we might have our own family in future, siblings are still very important. We may like to compare and argue, but still, blood is thicker than water. Jun is getting better (as in bonding is closer now and starting to learn to share) until Gloria came back from Australia.

All along, I don't really really have a good impression about my sis's best friend. Maybe I have some misunderstandings about the influence she is giving to my sister. But if bro feels the same way too.. Then, there is a problem. I had told sis about getting too close to Gloria before but she says I have no right to comment about her best friend. Well sister, I care for you. I know your friends are very very important to you but as bystanders, we see more clearly and knows what is best for you. Enough said. The rest is up to her to decide. Jun said she got me a GUESS watch for christmas present. I don't know what to give her man.. Bags she have so many, watches also. Tops also have alot. Make up she doesn't use. Maybe get her a nice necklace or bracelet.. I am going so broke man.. Got to choing work and studies! I got to go and prepare for work soon. *smiles*

Happiness Is A State Of Mind

I'm at chapter 2 of Love Happens now and Dr Burke Ryan (Aaron Eckhart) said this: "Happiness is a state of mind and it takes practice. Spend 5 mins a day smiling. Just smiling. And it will come to you naturally." I find it quite true. Year 2009 was a pretty rough year for most of us, or at least, for me. I've been through 2 heartbreaks but have gotten over it. Life still have to move on. I'm no longer in Accounting and Finance but am now in Mathematics and Economics. I know I'll somehow score better in this. >.<

I'm still in contact with Alex Tan. He's back from Switzerland for a shot period. We're going to have a catching up this coming Thursday. We crapped alot these days and decided to be PEZ flings! Haha.. Of course we were just talking nonsense and having fun. Through MSN.

I don't really have a stable tutoring job now as it's December and most parents would like to give their children a break. Or rather, save some money. Lol.. So currently, I've landed up as a brand ambassador (BA) a.k.a. 'high class' beer girl. I'm more to the diners side so I'll be mainly in restaurants, pubs or roving around. The company, Asia Pacific Breweries, had a PA (promoter something) dinner last night and we were invited along. The night was pretty slow for me. Luckily I had Zhen Xiang to accompany me. He is someone I met through DOTA and now become school mates c.u.m. friends.

Last night's dinner was held as Orchard Hotel. The uncles there (mainly managers) were trying to get us drunk. I'm not that dumb and barely drank half a glass of beer. Hehe.. I'd managed to socialize quite a bit and got to know some people. Ever since becoming a BA, I'm learning how to smile more and wearing heels much more often now without hurting my sole! I think smiling should come from within. I am happy when customers are polite to me and when they smile back at me. It's a wonderful feeling. Hence, I shall never stop smiling even when I'm sad. Remember, happiness is a state of mind. Another quote: "Emotions are not made by the thoughts and feelings of the people surrounding you. They are made up of your thinking." It went something like that. I couldn't recall the exact words and where I got them from. But you guys should know what I'm trying to get at right?

While at dinner, I was trying to get my PEZ fling but his handphone battery went flat! I wanted to catch Skeleton Key with him and he only managed to get back at about 1+am. He kept blaming his stupid phone! Haha.. Dad and sis came to fetch me home. Oh, I forgot to mention that I won an electric slow cooker and abit of cash. =DD

I can't wait for Christmas to come. My whole family will be going to Kuching, Sarawak, except for my brother. I can comfirm he sure bring Rebecca home lah.. That boy.. Kns one.. Haha.. But I trust him that he won't do anything funny lah.. Plus, I'll be toning at Xiang Hao (my very arh=good friend) place on Saturday. We're planning to catch Avatar and then have an early night. His mum will be cooking on Sunday! Yummy food! By the way, he just passed his motor TP! Congrats! He promised to get me a helmet when I'm learn bike. Yay!

And Kayvern, someone who has been sitting on my MSN list for the past few years, started to keep in touch with me. He's going to be my santa for this year but I have not much idea on what I'll be getting. Yay.. He's such a sweetheart. Made me some herbal tea so that I'll recover faster from my sore throat.

Well, the weather has been bad lately. Must be from all that carbon prints and greenhouse effect. And I am so hooked to online shopping! But I'm having some self-control now! Haha.. I shall stop blogging now. 22 and already becoming like an old woman. XD

P.S. I couldn't find my old bright blue for font coz they had changed the new editor. Thus, I'm using this romantic purple. =P

FML

Sometimes, I don't know what I want in life. Can God save me? Can anyone help me? At the age of 22, I am still feeling like a lost sheep. I want to change my lifestyle and behave like a normal and proper lady.
